On Friday November 2nd, TD Bank President, Chris Giamo presented General Needs President, Lonnie Sherman a check for $10,230 as part of the proceeds from the “Veterans Benefit Performance” by Mike DelGiudice and Big Shot, at the Paramount in Huntington. “It was a great night, the house was packed, and Big Shot never sounded better!”, said Lonnie Sherman, President of General Needs. “Nothing but great things have happened to us since our introduction to TD Bank from the Rotary Clubs of Long Island”.
“Awareness of the work we do here on Long Island for our homeless Veterans is finally getting the focus and resources it desperately needs”.
This Veterans event will give General Needs the ability to continue their “Boots Across Long Island” drive to distribute 1000 pairs of winter boots to needy Homeless Veterans from Queens to Riverhead this Veterans Day November 11th.
The highlight of the show was when dozens of veterans from
the audience joined Big Shot on stage during the Billy Joel classic “Goodnight Siagon”. And…“Mike Delguidice and Big Shot have already
agreed to do this again next year!
General Needs LTD focuses on helping the 5000 plus homeless Long Island Veterans and their families by providing basic necessities through charitable donations and support.
Their mission focuses on providing basic necessities: NEW Underwear, T- shirts, Socks, Boots, Sneakers, Outerwear, Towels/Washcloths, toiletries, and bedding… things that are missing in the everyday lives of our homeless veterans.
