Create a Better Future For American Veterans

Long Island is filled with compassionate community members who are committed to the well-being of our Veterans. We witness the veracity of this statement daily, working alongside volunteers who help Veterans throughout Suffolk and Nassau counties.

Every Veteran Deserves to Live with Dignity

Every veteran deserves more than just our gratitude; they deserve the assurance of a life without hardship. Supporting their essential needs is the least we can do to demonstrate our thanks for their service.

501(c)(3) Non-Profit Charitable Organization

In May 2015, General Needs Ltd. became a federal 501(C)(3) Non-Profit Charitable organization. In addition, General Needs Ltd. applied and was granted the Certificate for Not-for-Profit Registration from Suffolk County Veterans Service Agency and is registered with the New York State Office of the Attorney General. General Needs now services “monthly” Veterans housed at Emergency Shelters for Homeless Veterans from Brooklyn/Queens to Riverhead.

Testimonials

“General Needs does so much for so many, in the way of getting products to individuals that truly need them. They don’t just give people articles of clothing or other items that are useful, but they distribute quality items.”

General Needs invited Rolling Thunder Chapter 6 NY to a BBQ with our Veterans and “Out Of The Rough”. We sat and ate a delicious BBQ dinner cooked by the fantastic volunteers on the veranda at the Club House at NorthPort VA Golf course with our Heroes. It was so wonderful. Thank you Lonnie and Susan for everything you do

General Needs does a superb job of interfacing with the veteran community. They find individuals with needs by blending their services with groups like the Association of Mental Health and Wellness, Ronkonkoma and Rotary Clubs.
